The largest town in the region is far from an architectural marvel, but it is a very convenient base for exploring the area, and the atmosphere is friendly. By car, Uherské Hradiště is 65 km east of Brno via the E50 road, but the town is also easily accessible by train with the Břeclav-Přerov line (central station) or the Brno-Kyjov-Slovakia line (southern station). Also, take some time to explore the surrounding area: one will reach the dead-end village of Salaš, a kind of small forest paradise at the end of the world, or Vlčnov, the perfect example of the typical pretty wine village in the region.
