North of Brno and east of Blansko there is a beautiful area with all the characteristics of karst limestone formations: the Moravian Karst (Moravský Kras). Skalní Mlýn, 5 km east of Blansko, is a kind of tourist center of the cave region. There are hotels, a bus station and an information point. However, it is best to have your own vehicle in order to go freely and at your own pace from one cave to another. It is also possible to reach them by walking, but it will take longer to complete the visits. From Brno, most hotels organize day trips.
