Orlík is a castle with sober lines, but thanks to its superb location, it enchants all those who visit it. The complex is built on a steep rock that juts out into the waters of a lake formed by a dam on the Vltava River (the largest in the country) built in 1962. The bus connections are quite rare and are done in season from Písek (count about 1h30 of journey). It is interesting to connect the castles of Orlík and Zvíkov: they are only 14 km apart and can be connected on foot by following the lake or by boat (pier in season located at the foot of the castles). In both cases: beautiful landscapes!
