In the pleasant little town of Blatná, whose name means "mud" because it is located in a marshy area, stands a beautiful Gothic cathedral (chrám Panny Marie), Náměstí Míru Square, one of the most beautiful in the region, and a very elegant Renaissance palace surrounded by water. Its beautiful park where you can admire the reflections of the facade in the calm waters is a goal of discovery in itself. The town is located about 20 kilometers northwest of Pisek and is connected by frequent buses to Pisek or Strakonice, which are obligatory stops before finding a line to larger cities or to Prague.
