Domažlice (11,100 inhabitants) is the capital of the Chod region. It is located 40 km southwest of Plzeň and 12 km from the German border. Quiet and charming small town, here is an ideal starting point for walkers and hikers, the Šumava and its natural areas are only about 50 km away. Why not spend a few days here and explore its charming city center? From the end of the 14th century onwards, the town became a royal city and its golden age began. A royal castle, ramparts and four gates (only two of which have survived to this day) were built.
