Peace Square is surrounded by beautiful neoclassical houses that were once painted in all colors, but an (imperial) decree decided otherwise and the walls were plastered with "imperial yellow". North of the square, following Machova Street for a few dozen meters, is the symbol of the city: a small statue of a cherub named František, carrying a fish. Women touch certain parts of its anatomy: this gesture would promote fertility.
