Famous film festival in Karlovy Vary (western Bohemia), whose first edition took place in 1946, the same year as the Cannes festival. The elite of the film industry is welcomed in the most beautiful hotels every year and the screenings are mainly dedicated to Eastern European cinema, even if the trend since the fall of the Wall is towards Westernization.
