Among the beauties of the Český Ráj is this small town nicknamed "the pearl of Bohemian Paradise". Its history begins in the 15th century when a castle was built here on a sandstone cliff overlooking the Jizera River. The town is small (2,000 inhabitants), but it is surrounded by natural resources and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. Malá Skála is only 6 km north of Turnov. The village is served by local buses and trains.
