HRAD VALDŠTEJN CASTLE (HRAD VALDŠTEJN)

The castle was founded in the 13th century and is located on a rocky outcrop. After it burned down in the 16th century, it was acquired by the Waldstein family, who undertook to transform it. A Baroque building and the chapel of St. John Nepomuk were built for pilgrimage purposes. In 1713, the stone bridge connecting the two parts of the castle was embellished with sculptures. In the 19th century, many romantic elements were added, a style that was very fashionable at the time.
