Not far from Vozdvijenskoïé (2 km), Radonege deserves a visit. During the Soviet era, this village was named Gorodok. He regained his name from the past, in tribute to Serge de Radonège, who was born there and grew up there. As a religious and politician from the second half of the th century, Serge was the founder of the Trinity Monastery, which quickly became Russia's most important Monastery. Saint Serge contributed greatly to Russia's centralization around Moscow. Using his religious power, he supported Dimitri Donskoï and succeeded in restoring peace between Russian princes. It is also assumed that Andrei Roublev, a painter of the Moscow medieval school and creator of the icon of La Trinité, would be born in that same village. The landscapes of this particularly picturesque region have been reproduced in many paintings by Russian artists such as Nesterov, Vasnetsov and Grabar.65 th kilometre on the Yaroslavskoe Schosse. By continuing to the west the road leads to Khotkovo where the monastery of Khotkovski is located. In the Pakrovski Cathedral, the parents of Radonège are buried.
