It is one of the few establishments of its category (good and cheap) located right in the centre, in the lively and shopping district around the Bolshoi and very well placed on the metro lines. In this rather ordinary building from the 1950's, with its old-fashioned charm, the rooms have been renovated and your days are devoted to sightseeing, so the small lacks of the establishment shouldn't be too much of a problem. The hotel provides breakfast and you can enjoy the sauna and jacuzzi for a small extra charge.

A kind of annex to the Grand Hotel Marriott to which there is a swimming pool, but which undoubtedly has the finest interior in space and transparency. This business hotel is smaller than its big sisters and offers more calm and privacy. It should be noted, however, that this is one of Moscow's hotels with a sauna open 24 hours a day.

In the spirit of the grand hotels of the Place Vendôme, the Grand Hotel is truly... grandiose. One has the impression that its corridors and halls never stop and one finds with joy all this space in the rooms (a very rare luxury in the capital, even with this level of standing). Obviously, the staff is very professional.

The weekend breakfast/brunchin the restaurant on the top floor with a view of the whole center, is one of the best in town (if you pay the price) and its bar on the 8th floor is delicious.

Located in a lively and central area, the hostel is in constant renovation and offers 9 double rooms, one bedroom with 9 beds and one bedroom with 3 beds. Tea, coffee, internet available.

This youth hostel is located on the 3rd floor of a hotel, 10 minutes from the centre by metro and 15 minutes walk from the metro station. You can take the N 282, 763 or 24 bus, 85 from the metro and make a station. It is better to consult the site in order to find its route and especially to book before coming. The rooms have a TV, a fridge or a telephone. Renovated and comfortable. The area is also very pleasant, located in the green area, not far from the botanical garden.

This hotel is quite far from the center but compensates for this handicap by being located in a green zone (therefore quiet, a real advantage in Moscow) and ecological. The hotel itself is located in a modernized 24-storey building, originally designed for the famous 1980 Olympic Games, hence its long history that you can see on display in the lobby and its architecture. This 4-star hotel has been put on modern stands since its renovation in 2003. Among the services on offer: numerous restaurants, spa, fitness rooms.

This imposing and ugly building built in 1973 used to house the Hotel Belgrade, a faded giant with 400 rooms on 20 floors. Bought out and redone, it has gone from a passable hotel to a destination that can be recommended without second thoughts. This four-star hotel now has impeccable rooms and pleasant common areas, with views that stretch across much of the city, the Moskva River below and the Stalinist skyscraper of the Foreign Ministry. However, the hotel has kept the too-small rooms of its predecessor.

The cheapest of hotels at the Izmaylovo Olympic Complex. Breakfast not included. The hotel is full in summer, because it often lodges groups of children from all over Russia, visiting the capital.

This hotel, which belongs to the Academy of Sciences, has this traditional Soviet charm. It should be added, however, that the 104 rooms he offers have all bathrooms, TV and fridge. It also has an important asset: in a natural reserve, it guarantees calm, clean air and very beautiful view of the garden. This «green» hotel also has all the necessary attributes: Sauna, restaurant. So we point it out for its very interesting price/price ratio. However, the distance from the centre (30 minutes by metro, and another 15 minutes to the metro), is likely to rebuter more than one tourist.

Again a renovated hotel that has changed its range, offering rooms more comfortable and better equipped but which will not satisfy as before the small budgets.

Hotel Izmaylovo was built for the 1980 Olympic Games. Designed for 8,000 people, it is divided into six buildings, independent of each other since their privatisation, but still the largest hotel complex in Moscow. The rooms are comfortable and in general the hotel offers better value for money than many hotels in the centre. Moreover, it adjoins the famous market, containing a wealth of Russian souvenirs and antiques of all kinds.

A small intimate establishment, situated in a quiet and pleasant area, near the Arbat street. But the hotel would need a renovation because everything seems a little old. And it's a bit expensive for the benefits offered.

There is a shopping centre and a supermarket open 24 hours a day only a few minutes from the hotel. The rooms are small on average, and in very good condition. They are simple but comfortably furnished with dark wood furniture. The lobby is medium-sized and very welcoming. The hotel offers good value for money.

The rooms are medium sized and decorated simply but tastefully. Bathrooms with shower or bathtub are in very good condition. The hotel has 96 rooms with all the necessary facilities. Hotel Irbis offers a business centre, internet access, room service, bar, sauna. The bar is an ideal place where you can relax or meet friends. Good value for money for this hotel with easy access to central Moscow.

One of Moscow's big, very big hotels, the famous Soviet Cosmos is located right across the street from the VDNKh. The Cosmos is a strange building. A tower as high as it is wide in the shape of an arc of a circle and which, at nightfall, sparkles with blue. It houses a concert hall (shows and performances are usually interesting), the oldest nightclub in Moscow, and many inter devochkas waiting for the lonely businessman in the hotel bars. Nevertheless, the Cosmos remains comfortable. The rooms are large and well-equipped.

A hotel recommended and not only for its original francophilie! Strategically located, nestled in a quiet courtyard of the building, it offers 28 ultra-cosy rooms in a decor that makes it look like a doll's house. The rooms are very well arranged and spacious for the centre of Moscow. All in all, the price is very competitive. The breakfasts are copious and offer champagne on weekends. The place even has its regulars, and the very friendly staff brings an added value to the hotel landscape of the capital.

Located in Kamegerskiy, a pedestrianised and particularly pleasant historical street in the city centre, the eponymous Kamergerskiy Hotel offers 27 rooms in 6 categories, from standard to luxury. You will find many restaurants at the foot of the building, the street becoming Kuznetskiy Most a few dozen meters away. The decoration is not very original but you will be comfortable in the well-equipped rooms (especially the superb bedding). Breakfast is served in the hotel's cafe-kitchenette.
