THE MERMAID INN

In the greatest tradition of the English Inn, The Mermaid has its own bar and rooms upstairs. Built in 1420 with elements dating back to 1156, its fireplace is absolutely colossal and will delight history lovers. There are usually three real ales and the place, dark and picturesque, is said to be haunted. It's a special atmosphere, but it's striking in any case. And it's a luxury to be able to sip as many beers as you want without having to worry about the journey home since you're staying right above it.
