Jianshui is located just under 220 km from Kunming's big town, yet the Bourgade is still unknown to Western tourists. Here is a city in Yunnan where you will not cross a "big nose" at every corner of the street! Despite its growing urbanization, Jianshui has intimately preserved beautiful remains that bear witness to its rich past. Located on the Silk Road, the former Butou region was the scene of numerous clashes. From the central power, it became a political and military center very quickly. In the sixteenth century, Muslim soldiers arrived and settled in the small town. Very quickly, Jianshui was also influenced by the Mongolian dynasty Yuan who built the beautiful temple of Confucius. In the nineteenth century, the authorities decided to pass the railway line between Kunming and Haiphong to Jianshui. Initially, villagers had no choice. Put into service in 1936, the railway track (close to one meter) attracts curious and train enthusiasts.Even though today the city lives in the new millennium, it nevertheless retains a special atmosphere that it would be a pity to miss. Just like the visit of the beautiful village of Tuanshan (less than 15 km). The architecture and atmosphere in this village are worthy of a film…
