Dedicated to a general of the Song Dynasty (960-1279) famous for having maté a revolt in southern China. Later, during an epidemic of plague, a Tai Wai inhabitant dreamed that Che Kung had saved the village and it was an end to the epidemic. A temple was then erected in its name, and the general was assimilated to a taoist deity, together with the patron saint of the players! On the day of its anniversary, thousands of worshippers gather on the site. In turn, they turn on incense sticks, consult with them and rotate a prayer mill three times clockwise in order to get away from bad luck in the coming year.
Nearby, Temple Kwum Yum is dedicated to the goddess of mercy.
