Of the six former quarries of Roman Tarraco, that of El Mèdol is the largest: over 200 metres long, one finds a limestone stone per blocks of sometimes 40 metres thick, white-rosé material that served in antiquity to construct most buildings. The location is quite impressive and deserves a little walk. Free visit.
