Nestled between the Garraf Natural Park and the Mediterranean Sea, the municipality of Castelldefels attracts visitors when the weather is fine due to its 5 kilometres of fine sandy beaches. It is 25 km from Barcelona and can be reached by car via the C-31. The castle of Fels (10th century), which gave its name to the town, dominates the coastline from the top of its hill. Castelldefels appeals to water sports enthusiasts with its Olympic canal and its marina, the Port Ginesta. But it is above all its immense beach that is the star attraction for visitors. Exposed to the winds, it is very popular for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
