To the north of Granollers, this thermal village crossed from north to south by the river Congost is known for its sumptuous modernist heritage. From the end of the 19th century, its microclimate and its thermal waters attracted a Catalan bourgeoisie enriched by the pace of industrial progress. It was at this time that the modernist villas of La Garriga flourished. The Illa Raspal complex is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful examples of the style. But people also come to La Garriga to stay in its historical thermal centres, to enjoy a gastronomy that is somewhere between traditional and avant-garde, or to take a breath of fresh air in the Montseny Natural Park. During Corpus Christi, in June, the streets of the village are lined with flowers. It is one of the most beautiful festivities in the Vallès Oriental.
