It was in this village located 190 km from Khorog that the Sufi Mubarani Vakhoni lived and buried. Philosopher, mathematician, astronomer and poet, Moubarani Vakhoni lived as a hermit in a small prayer cell. We can visit his house, transformed into an ethnological museum. In the entrance, several musical instruments are exposed as well as traditional costumes and domestic copper and wood utensils. The central part is devoted to the books of Vakhoni, the manuscripts of which he made the paper himself and the ink. Vakhoni mausoleum, perched on a visible hill in the village, is theoretically forbidden to women. Just outside the house, a stone pierced at its center served as a calendar. Through the orifice of the stone, the position of the sun or the stars was observed in relation to columns of stone built on the hill.
