The arrival in Prato is surprising. But why are some signs in Chinese? For a long time an industrial satellite of Florence, Prato now has the largest Chinese community in Europe, after London and Paris! The reason for this is the fall of the textile economy in the 1990s, despite the city's thousand-year-old tradition. Many factories closed, and many were also bought by Chinese producing "fast fashion". The city has some interesting monuments, even if the comparison with Florence works against it. That said, Prato is economical, a decisive factor for those who do not want to spend too much.
