Its crema di Grom (custard with cookie chips and chocolate chips) has become its iconic flavor. In winter, don't miss the opportunity to try the creamy hot chocolate. On the road to the station, the glacier il Gelatone is a compulsory step for those who are preparing to leave Venice. In this way, you will leave with the sweet memories of sesame, honey and pink grapefruit scents. 

Along the Rio Terà San Leonardo, this sweet haven is the best surprise before or after a long walk in Cannaregio. The oldest grocery store in Venice, an absolute reference for food lovers and lovers of rare products. On the shelves you will find an incredible variety of teas, honeys, spices, wines and spirits, as well as precious olive oils and vinegars from all over Italy. Not to mention dried mushrooms, delicious in an infinite number of recipes, and of course sweets such as candies and nougats, dried fruits, cookies and cakes. A model of its kind that you won't find much anymore.

Nice gelateria in the Castello area, where such addresses are rare. Well appreciated by the locals and the tourists who discover this little gem, who like to pick up a cone and then take a bite while strolling along the Riva degli Schiavoni. La Mela Verde offers a wide range of refreshing and quality sorbets: strawberry, raspberry, grapefruit, lemon, kiwi and of course... green apple (the name of the shop)! The wafers on the cones are perfect. When the ice cream meets the fruit, we crack without hesitation!

For generations, Giovanni Pitteri, a passionate and demanding Venetian pastry chef, has been preparing cakes and other delicacies. His store is just like him: generous and traditional. Here you can taste all sorts of little cookies, filled with chocolate or apricot jam, delicious with a "homemade" coffee for example, to eat in or take away. Venetians like to stop by for colazione (breakfast), for a cappuccino with brioche, preferably filled with custard. The service is fast, efficient and always smiling.

Forget your dentist for a moment! Don't just admire the front of the shop and rush in with greed in this narrow shop of ten square meters at the most. This family-run confectionery shop has a childhood flavour. You can find all kinds of chocolate, thousands of candies (in bags and in bulk), caramels, giant licorice of 93 cm, but also local cookies and other traditional sweets. With so many sweets which tend you the arms, fatally one succumbs!

With gluten-free, lactose-free and even vegan recipes, traditional ice creams with monstrously delicious flavors, and constantly evolving quality ingredients, Suso has established itself as one of Venice's finest ice cream makers since 2010. Stracciatella, coffee, pistachio, caramel, hazelnut, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, lemon... here, the great classics taste exceptional. As the price of success, it's not unusual to have to wait 10-20 minutes to get to the counter. But it's worth it, and gourmets may well come back.

It's hard to miss THE local specialty when visiting Venice: baccalà veneto . This brand, proud of its culinary heritage, has even decided to package this typically Venetian recipe in order to make it known to the whole world, and to allow visitors to leave with a few samples. The prepared cod may be packaged in small metal cans, but the product remains authentically tasty. The result is one of the most evocative souvenirs of Venetian culinary culture.

The scent of bread and cakes fills the whole of Via San Barnaba, so let your nose guide you and hurry to the entrance of this famous pastry shop. In the window there is a display of puffy, golden focaccia, a typical Venetian sweet bun that is delicious for dessert or breakfast. But the other pastry shops are not to be outdone, especially in February, when crowds flock to Nono Colussi's to buy chiacchiere and other frittelle, the traditional carnival doughnuts.

We love the look of this patisserie with its antique woodwork. It's a real haunt for the locals of San Polo. You'll see them flocking here especially on Sundays after mass, to buy their lunchtime cake. The chocolate and marzipan specialities are excellent. During Carnival, frittelle and chiacchiere fill the windows. A small counter inside allows you to taste them on the spot. You can also try one of Venice's best hot chocolates.
