Located at the northeastern end of the lake, Pisogne is an ancient medieval village with a population of around 8,000. It's also the starting point for a visit to Val Camonica, the valley of the River Oglio. While strolling through Pisogne, be sure to visit the church of Santa Maria della Neve. Known as "the Sistine Chapel of the poor", this beautiful church dates back to the 15th century. Inside, you can contemplate the marvellous frescoes by the painter Girolamo di Romano (1532-1534) depicting scenes from the life of Christ. The town also boasts a medieval tower, the Episcopal Tower, dating from the 13th century: don't hesitate to climb it!
