The village is beautifully situated in the small bay of Venere formed by the promontory of Lavedo. It has beautiful religious buildings. At the height of the Dosso di Lavedo, next to Lenno, begins the Tremezzina, which takes the name of its main town, Tremezzo. It is a narrow strip of land that extends to the Sasso di San Martino, after Cadenabbia. Characterized by a mild climate and by numerous villas with gardens in bloom, it is also called the "River of the Azaleas". In the Tremezzina, on the extreme point of the Lavedo promontory, is the famous Villa del Balbianello.
