Moltrasio is a charming little village - fewer than 2,000 souls - overlooking the lake, famous for its grey stone houses and Romanesque churches, including the11th-century Sant'Agata and 12th-century San Martino. It is home to several ancient villas, such as Villa Passalacqua, and a charming little fishing port. It has welcomed famous guests such as Churchill, who came here to rest in the summer of 1945, and the singer of the group Muse. There's not much to see here, so don't stay too long, but it's a pleasant place to stop for a stroll along the road to Lake Como.
