This pretty little town has managed to keep its architectural heritage intact, but also the natural setting of the lake and mountains. The shoreline offers beautiful views from this vantage point. The 13th-century Palazzo della Ragione, flanked by the communal tower, and the Pietà sanctuary are among the town's artistic highlights. This church, built by Carlo Borromeo in 1583, stands directly opposite the pier and houses a miraculous pietà in the first chapel on the right, the object of particular popular devotion. Last but not least, because of the constant wind, Cannobio is a favorite with sailing enthusiasts.
