A remarkable botanical garden in Courmayeur, the highest in Europe.
This is the highest botanical gardenin Europe, at an altitude of 2,173 m! It takes its name from the Saussurea alpine flower, named after the Genevan naturalist Horace Bénédict de Saussure, born in 1740, one of the first to have climbed Mont Blanc. A unique experience to admire the thousands of colours and shapes of the 800 species of alpine flora, from the end of June to the end of August, with full bloom in July. The species are classified according to their region. In a large meadow, flowers and grasses grow spontaneously, nature has taken over: magnificent!
