ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

The first part of the tour takes in the Roman ruins in the palace basement. The second half of the museum presents the results of archaeological excavations carried out in Aosta and the surrounding valley. Also on display is the Pautasso numismatic collection , featuring a large number of ancient coins, and the silver bust of Jupiter Dolichenus, dating from the ^2nd century A.D. Some rooms are also dedicated to explaining the history of the region, from the Stone Age to modern times.
