These former wine-growing villages for the Lords of Blonay, Saint-Légier and La Chiésaz, situated above the A9 motorway, have lost almost all their vines but have kept intact the charm of the wine-grower's houses. The inhabitants of Saint-Légier are called the "Tyalos". This nickname is said to have originated from a fight between two drunken young men and one of the spectators shouted "Tya-lo ! Tya-lo! which cynically means "Kill him! Kill him!" "... Since then, the nickname has remained. To reach these small villages, from Vevey, you reach Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz by the train of Stars that leads to the Pilgrim Mount.
