A remarkable edifice built by Nicolas Chéron, a subtle blend of pink Saint-Jean bricks and limestone.
This remarkable edifice was built by Nicolas Chéron, president of the election of Pont-l’Evêque in 1624, who opted for a subtle mixture of pink Saint-Jean-type bricks and limestone. It owes its elegance in part to its two towers topped with gable roofs. It is said that it was the pied-à-terre of the Duchess of Montpensier, or more likely a notary. Today, the Hôtel Montpensier houses the inter-communal library.
