Built on a crossroads of roads and rivers, Pont-l'Évêque has been a place of passage and trade since the Middle Ages. Its charming town center, typically Norman architectural style, craftsmen, market and small cafés give it an undeniable charm. Half-timbered houses, little bridges and streams where ducks surf between climbing ivy: everything looks like something out of a postcard. Once an underestimated Calvados nugget, now a Normandy must-see, Pont-l'Évêque is well worth a visit, especially as the town has been a "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée" since 1972.
