Originally (8th century), Deiva Marina was just a village entrenched on the heights inland from the coast. Its gradual expansion then pushed the settlement to the coast. Even today, the two parts remain distinct: the coastal part is interesting only for its beach, while the inland part preserves the remains of two towers. The first, quadrangular, stands opposite the 17th-century church of Sant'Antonio Abate ; the other, round, is closer to the coast. The large sandy beach is very popular with holidaymakers for its clear waters, as is the seafront promenade. A pleasant stopover!
