Approximately 60 kilometers from Donegal, Letterkenny is the largest town in the county of the same name, with a population of almost 20,000. This industrial and commercial town was built around a main thoroughfare - the inevitable Main Street (Upper and Lower) - which is always lively and well-stocked with stores of all kinds and welcoming pubs. Nightlife here is undoubtedly the liveliest in the region. A great way to unwind after long walks in the countryside. In short, this is an excellent base for visiting the north and east of County Donegal, although the town lacks a little charm.
