Foxford is a beautiful little town of less than 1,000 inhabitants, situated on the banks of the River Moy, one of Europe's most salmon-filled rivers. It's a great place to fish for salmon! The town is best known for its large factory for tweeds and other typical Irish wools, the famous Foxford Woolen Mills. Within the production site, a visitor center traces the history of the town of Foxford through the wool industry and the role played by Mother Agnes, founder of the mill in 1892, in creating employment for the local population. A must-see when visiting Foxford.
