Achill Island is the largest island on the Irish coast, connected to the mainland by a swing bridge between the villages of Achill Sound and Polranny, the Michael Davitt Bridge. The Atlantic Drive begins at the Corraun Peninsula: the sea runs along a coastline of pebbles and deserted mountains populated by an avalanche of rocks.
