The largest lake in the Republic of Ireland (48 km long and covering 200 km2), famous for salmon and trout fishing. From Oughterard, you can travel by boat to the largest of the 365 islands in the lake, Inchagoill Island, a remote area dotted with beautiful ruined churches. For boat trips, contact Corrib Cruises. As for the Irish salmon fishery, in the face of intensive aquaculture in Norway, for example, Ireland has taken on the challenge of offering organic salmon. Large sea pens and organic, non-GMO feed provide tasty salmonids with firm, lean flesh. Enjoy your meal!
