Letterfrack, founded in the mid-19thcentury by Quakers, is a good starting point for Connemara National Park. The National Park Visitor Centre, located near Letterfrack, features exhibitions on the surrounding natural environment, with many informative panels onbogs, their formation and the human activity that surrounds them. The friendly staff are on hand to answer any questions you may have, such as how to mark out routes or how long an excursion will last. In July and August, free guided walks are organized by park staff. There's also a tea room where you can grab a bite to eat.
