Carran, or Carron, is a charming little rural village in the hills, offering beautiful views of the Burren. It is the notorious birthplace of Michael Cusack (1847-1906), co-founder of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), the powerful Gaelic sports federation (hurling, camogie, Gaelic soccer, Gaelic handball and rounders).
