LISDOONVARNA MATCHMAKING FESTIVAL

Lisdoonvarna was once famous for its festival in September, during which many bachelors, mostly men, arrived from all over the country in the hope of meeting their soulmate. On this occasion, the basadoiri, for a fee, would introduce these gentlemen to young girls who might be suitable for them. Today, the festival still exists and attracts a large crowd of singles... but also couples who come to party.
