To the northwest of the park, on the Aghadoe hill, one should not miss the ruins of the church and the Round Tower of the 12th century, which piles up magnificent pink and ochre stones. The attentive eye will not miss - not far from a lying and sealed oghamic stone - a fragment of a pillar bearing a bas-relief of a rather pleasing workmanship. It is a crucifixion: Christ, the body straight, arms slightly in "V", the round head haloed, feet turned inward, is crucified without a cross next to the Virgin Mary who seems to fly away, or more precisely to dance while flying away, while at her side a butterfly angel is flying... The whole, of a naive technique, is nevertheless full of grace. The portal is also quite remarkable. It is similar in construction to that of the church in Kilmakedar, and has arches with motifs of circles and broken lines. But the pillars are absolutely original: the stones draw a pattern indented towards the inside and let appear a hollow form, a kind of concave dovetail, embellished by the multiple shades of the stones from grey to ochre, from yellow to rust. Moreover, one can enjoy superb views on Lough Leane and its islets. Superb!
