Innisfallen Island is a small, tranquil island in the wilds of Lough Leane. A true haven of peace, ideal for a stroll, where you'll find the ruins of a superb7th-century abbey (circa 640 a priori) said to have been built by Saint Finian. It was here, too, that the13th-century Annals of Innisfallen were written, a famous manuscript dealing with the daily life of Ireland in days gone by.
