The Royal Swedish Yacht Club, KSSS, is the largest and oldest yacht club in Sweden and one of the five oldest in the world. It has approximately 5,000 members, half of whom are juniors. It was founded in Stockholm in 1830 under the name Swedish Yacht Club. In 1878, the club received royal status and was renamed Royal Swedish Yacht Club. The company was founded in Skeppsholmen in Stockholm by some of the city's entrepreneurs who wanted to organize regattas in the Stockholm area. ÅF Offshore Race is now a classic.

Midnattsloppet Stockholm is an annual 10 km race on the island of Södermalm. The start is usually on Ringvägen (outside the Zinkensdamms IP track) and the finish on Hornsgatan. The course is quite difficult, especially the hill leading to the church of Sofia. If you don't want to participate in the 10 km course, you have the option to do only the 5 km.
