Ideal accommodation for a stay with friends, or even without. The place is never empty, and it also offers a sauna. The nearby Nomad Swedish Food & Bar is popular with locals and tourists alike.

On the island of Långholmen, this building is a former prison converted into a hotel and youth hostel in summer. The recipe was simple: forget the past and transform the cells into rooms for 2 to 4 people (the cells are adapted for disabled guests). And there's no need to wake up with a bunch of keys. Restaurant, self-catering facilities, Internet, wifi, washing machines, TV rooms and a small museum. It's the ideal place to spend a green holiday in the heart of Stockholm!

A very large hostel with 89 rooms, located right next to the large Tanto Park. The place is a pleasant little oasis, with wooden houses and rooms for 2, 3 or 4 people. Kitchen available, cafeteria, breakfast, washing machines and sauna. Garage for rent and quick access to the city centre and the old town. The rooms are spacious and simply decorated, without pretense, and provide maximum comfort. The dormitories are similar.

Still, the place is very quaint, with a bright and spacious interior, welcoming travelers from all over the world looking for a cheap bed in central Stockholm. You have access to a shared kitchen, free wifi, shared showers and toilets, and lockers. They also offer free pasta, coffee and tea, with a supermarket 30 metres away. Breakfast is not included for the dorms.

There is a large lounge where you can eat your meals cooked in the common kitchen. It is a meeting place for backpackers from all over the world. It's best to book in advance though, it's a popular address that fills up quickly. Sheets and towels are not included in the price, to be rented in the establishment.

This is a convenient and friendly hostel. You can choose between private double rooms, four-bed, six-bed, eight-bed, twelve-bed and fourteen-bed dorms. The 11 mixed or female-only dorms have free wifi, lockers and a shared bathroom. These affordable prices are hard to beat for Stockholm, especially being only a 15-minute walk from Gamla Stan! The common areas are comfortable, and you can make good friends. Highly recommended for students.

The hostel is located on the mezzanine floor, which reminds us of a ship's hold, where we feel strangely comfortable. The atmosphere is friendly thanks to the small decorative elements and the practical arrangements. The books run along the water pipes, the walls of the kitchen are blackboards where little words accumulate, etc. The living room is very friendly and easy to meet people. Ask at the reception before booking your room, as some of them do not have windows. Atypical experience, and a more than central address!

This youth hostel is located in one of the most charming corners of the old town, on Kinstugatan Street. The corner of the building facing the Brändtomte square was cut out when it was built to allow horse-drawn carriages to turn around, as the other streets in this part of the old town are too narrow for this kind of manoeuvre! Very calm environment, like a return to the past. A small kitchen is available for guests. A pleasure to see a clean and tidy youth hostel.

Extremely conveniently located (you can't get more central than Stockholm!), this youth hostel offers a certain level of comfort. In the kitchen, tea, coffee and pasta are free. Rooms are rather spartan but well-maintained. A good starting point for exploring the city, and a good place to make friends. The building itself is very Swedish, ensuring a stay in true Stockholm style. Single, double, triple and family-friendly rooms. Each has its own private bathroom.

A youth hostel located very close to the train station and bus terminal: just cross Kungsbron to get there. The hostel offers lockers for your belongings, but you'll need to bring your own lock or pay for it. Television and DVD player in all private rooms. Common room with microwave, tea service and TV, wifi. The kitchen is equipped with stove, microwave, refrigerator and free tea and coffee. There are also computers available to residents.

Lilla Brunn is a very well located hostel in Stockholm, in a building dating from the 1700s. The reception is open and available 24 hours a day, with pleasant, friendly staff. Breakfast is not included. The kitchen is well-maintained, and you'll generally find it impeccably comfortable and clean. We like this friendly place for student budgets, in a quaint and relaxed space.

A ^17th century building, all rooms have large windows overlooking the cobblestone streets of the old town. Ideally located, the hotel is within walking distance of most of the historical sites: the Royal Palace, the Cathedral, the Nobel Museum, Skeppsbron and the ferries to the royal island of Djurgården. There is also a fully equipped kitchen where you can enjoy your meals on site. A practical address for an economical stay and a program full of discoveries in the capital.
