Taneka Berni, which means "the big taneka", and Taneka Koko, "under the stone", are villages clinging to the hillside, in the middle of a luxuriant vegetation, and whose houses have a very particular architecture. In Taneka Berni, the huts are round, with a thatched roof topped by a canary that collects rainwater, while in Taneka Koko there are also some rectangular ones. The track between the two villages is in poor condition, so it is necessary to travel by 4x4, especially during the rainy season. In general, the guides on site or those in Natitingou suggest visiting these two villages, going to see the sacred cave, which served as a refuge for the Taneka fleeing the Bariba and which today houses a fetish, and finally, meeting the fetishist. The account of the rites that are practiced in the cave, in particular, is not lacking in interest. But the problem is that even if the prices charged are not excessive, one has the impression of being a little bit of a cash drawer that has to ring at each place visited.
