Tentena, Pendolo's twin village, nestles in a picturesque setting. Surrounded by high, densely forested mountains and hills dotted with coffee and clove plantations, it's a veritable jewel of nature. The Sungai Poso River, which flows from Lake Poso, is crossed by two bridges. Impressive eel traps can be seen near these bridges.Over the past 5 years, this region has been the scene of violent clashes between Christians and Muslims, resulting in the loss of over 1,000 lives in 2000 and 2001. In 2005, Tentena was also hit by a bomb attack that killed 22 people.
