The Morowali reserve, inhabited by the Wanas, a forest-dwelling people living outside modern times, is an extraordinary place. These communities derive their livelihood from gathering, hunting and slash-and-burn agriculture, a simple way of life that brings them satisfaction and happiness. Traditionally nomadic, the Wana live in small hamlets called lipu's along the Bongka and Bulang rivers. Over the past 5 years, only around 50 tourists have had the opportunity to cross this reserve. Accommodation is in the heart of the villages, offering an immersive experience among the locals.
