The Carnival of Bouaké, launched in 1964, takes the form of a whole week of festivities marked by the holding of a fair, a parade of floats, majorettes, masked ball, election of Miss Carnival, etc., and ends in apotheosis with the incineration of the carnival statue. Renamed "Carnival Forum Fair of Bouaké", this emblematic event of Ivorian cultural life resumed in 2014, after being interrupted for several years during the decade of crisis. Nearly 400 shopkeepers take part in this festival.
