At 25 km from Sassandra, there is a region of great beauty: the neyo country, an ethnic group of the Krou family. The relief is hilly, planted with primary forests and criss-crossed by small wild rivers. The village of Dagbego takes its name from the river Dagbé which flows into the Atlantic Ocean at the level of a lagoon. But nature is taking back its rights: the village is now in ruins and almost abandoned, swallowed up by the inexorable rise of the waters. The destroyed houses, as well as the cemetery now desecrated by the ocean, have forced the villagers to migrate. Many have settled along the Coast
