Real hub of West Africa in terms of air traffic, Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (which recorded its peak passenger attendance rate since 1999, with more than 1.8 million passengers, thus placing the second rank of the UEMOU airport airports in the second place) A and second position of sub-Saharan African airports after Johannesburg) is served by twenty airlines covering nearly forty destinations in the world. Europe is particularly well connected, thanks to companies such as Air France and Brussels Airlines, which provided fourteen and seven weekly rotations to France and Belgium in 2017. From Abidjan it is also possible to travel directly to Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, North, West, West, East and Central, and by correspondence, in China, the United States and Brazil. Depending on the traffic, count between about ten and thirty minutes to join the airport from the center of Abidjan (Plateau). For caution, always plan the maximum margin: Abidjan is the world's capital of butterfly wing beating, and we quickly got caught in monsters that seem to have no apparent cause. Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport is equipped with modern, well-maintained equipment and infrastructure: two terminals (domestic and international flights), two parking lots (short and long-term with monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual subscription formulas = > see airport site for retail fares) at the exit of terminals (500 FCFA first hour and lower hourly rates for short-term parking; plan the currency), two automatic teller machines (Ecobank and Banque Atlantique), two exchange bureaus (Koumalo, Côte d 'Ivoire Change), a pharmacy offering non-prescription medicines and the necessary for first aid, car rental counters and private transport (Avis, Hertz, Budget, Selv, Africab…), a tourist information desk including a hotel reservation service (number: +225 20 20 65 28), offices of local travel agencies and tour operators (Capital Connect, Sotra tourism…) and hotels (Azalai, Grand Hotel Abidjan, Hotel New Pergola, Hotel Tiama…), a post office, a bookstore, toilets equipped with a Lange corner, a snack bar and a King Burger King in the public hall and a lounge in the boarding hall, a duty-free shop accepting FCFA, euros and US dollars, and local shops offering products made in Côte d 'Ivoire. Commission (number: +225 21 58 78 08) and an emergency medical service (approachable at +225 21 75 79 70 or +225 21 75 29 60) are also available at the airport. The hotels closest to the airport are the Radisson Blu, which opened its doors to guests in March 2016, the Onomo Hotel, Ibis Marcory and Freeman Hotel, Boulevard Valéry Giscard d 'Estaing (VGE), and the Marly and Wafou Boulevard.
The question is: Airport staff are not always always friendly, better smile and run politely when they ask for something (health checks and identity, customs). On the other hand, unauthorized people can follow you and be very insistent on the baggage reception area, some of which go so far as to convince you that it is unlike that sends it to you, or raise unimaginable coils just with the aim of taking you out of the money. A wardrobe is worth two.
