The commune of Luc-sur-Mer is located fifteen kilometers north of Caen and boasts one and a half kilometers of shoreline. As early as 1840, when seaside bathing became fashionable, it established itself as one of the most popular seaside resorts on the Côte de Nacre, known for its vast sandy beaches. At the time, the town was competing with Dieppe for the title of leading seaside resort in the Manche department. Today, Luc-sur-Mer offers the image of a dynamic year-round town, prized for its shops and restaurants, its casino (inaugurated in 1956) and its thalassotherapy center. With the kids, be sure to say hello to Luc's whale!
