Petit Futé's opinion on KELDBY CHURCH (KELDBY KIRKE)

A small island but three superb churches famous for their frescoes. These were discovered in 1883 and restored a few years later. They date from different periods: the oldest, in the choir, date back to 1275; a second series dated 1325 adorns the nave; finally, the most famous were executed by the island's painter, Master Elmelunde. These sacred decorations, on whitewashed walls, illustrate scenes from the Old and New Testaments.
