FANEFJORD CHURCH (FANEFJORD KIRKE)
Petit Futé's opinion on FANEFJORD CHURCH (FANEFJORD KIRKE)
When entering the island from Farø, take one of the first roads on the right, pay attention to the signs. This beautiful church dates back to 1250. From the 14th century, frescoes illustrating the New Testament were painted, some of them signed by the master of Elmelunde, an island artist who decorated several churches on Møn. In the past, these images were called the Biblia pauperum (the Bible of the Poor, the Illiterate). The ever vivid colours are enhanced by the lighting.
